MISCHIEF

Mischief is a word for things that are a little bad or reckless but ultimately harmless. Hitting someone with a spitball is mischief. Hitting them with a rock is dangerous and therefore much worse than mischief. Making mischief can be fun, as long as it doesn't get out of hand.

Mischief in Law means a wrong or hardship that a statute designs to remove or for which the common law affords a remedy. It may also be in the nature of playful behaviour or annoyance or difficulty. Chapter XVII of the Indian Penal Code explains about the offences against property.

Social Groups – Primary and Secondary

Every living creature needs a companion of its own kind for the sustenance and survival on this planet and same applies to the human beings. Man is thus born with the sociable instinct hence always in search of a companion. His innate desire for developing relations and establishing   companionships leads to the formation of groups of myriad types. Elevated cognitive ability of humans is instrumental in organising their groups in a highly evolved manner which is unlike to other creatures. These groups may be as simple as aggregates or as complex as social groups.

Understanding Earthquakes

Earthquakes occur when rocks release stress, according to the elastic rebound theory, which states that pressures due to plate tectonics are stored in rocks, which respond elastically. When the elastic limit is exceeded, the rocks slip along a fault or break to create one, releasing energy in the form of seismic waves. The focus and epicentre of an earthquake are located through triangulation using the time-travel chart. Earthquakes are measured in terms of intensity and energy release.

Value of Biodiversity

The biosphere comprises of a complex collection of innumerable organisms, known as the “Biodiversity” which constitutes the vital life support for the survival of human race and includes millions of plants animals and micro organisms, the genes they contain and the ecosystems of which they are a part. Biodiversity or biological diversity simply means the variety and variability among living organisms and the ecological complexes in which they occur. Such variety refers to the variety at the species, genetic and ecosystem level. Thus biodiversity refers to the range of life forms on Earth.

Interdependence of Microorganisms and Macroorganisms

The two seemingly alternative approaches to economic analysis, viz., the micro and macro approaches have been underlined. They may seem to be competitive approaches but at bottom they are complementary to each other. In fact, they are interdependent that neither approach is complete without the other. We cannot understand a complete understanding of the functioning of the economic system unless we integrate the two approaches in a judicious manner. The costs of particular firm such as, labour and raw material, etc.

Environment and Human Health

Environmental health has great importance in our lives because of the pollution that is caused by different kind of resource such as manufacturing plants, smoke etc. Environmental health tells us how to deal directly with the pollution and all the tricks to prevent from the harmful effects of this pollution. It’s the field of study with diverse dimensions in all the aspects of world including natural and artificial environment. All the aspect of human safety which includes external and internal physical, mental and conscience health lies in the environmental health.

Nuclear Accidents & Holocaust

Globally, there is a growing demand for electricity that is cheap, reliable and abundant. There's also an increasing need to find sources of energy that do not rely on doing business with hostile or unstable nations. Nuclear energy was researched and discovered by man as a source of alternate energy which would be clean and cheap compared to fossil fuels. And although this did happen, along with the benefits of nuclear energy came its downfall. Approximately 17 % of the electrical energy generated in the world comes from nuclear power plants.

Transgenics & Phytoremediation

Environmental stress, population explosion, and food shortage have caused serious problems to mankind on the globe. The world population is increasing alarmingly and is projected to reach 8.5 billion by 2025. The need of every individual from limited natural resources is difficult and it has resulted in food deficiency thereby causing malnutrition, a serious health problem these days. For example, considerable deficiency of micronutrients (iron, zinc) and vitamin A have been observed in different countries.

Producers, Consumers & Decomposers

The organisms that make up the living parts of the ecosystem i.e. biotic community are divisible into two major categories, viz., autotrophs (producers) and heterotrophs (consumers and decomposers). This division is based on the function of organisms and not on taxonomy. Autotrophs, the green plantsand algae (and autotrophic bacteria), by capturing solar energy and utilizing the simple inorganic substances, manufacture food, that is utilized by the heterotrophs, which cannot manufacture their own food.
