Muzaffar Ahmad is Summer Research Fellow of Jawahar Lal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) , Bangalore. He received B.E degree in Electronics & Communication from Model institute of Engineering & Technology (MIET), Jammu and M. Tech degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Electrical Energy & Power Systems from National Institute of Technology, Srinagar.
He is a thorough engineering professional with blend of knowledge in broadcast technology and in commercial aspects of Broadcasting business. He worked as Project Engineer with Broadcast Engineering Consultant India Ltd. New Delhi, as Asst. Manager – MCR, B.A.G Films & Media Limited, Noida & as Sr. Executive – Broadcast with Times Global Broadcast Company Ltd, New Delhi. He had hands on experience of running news and entertainmnet TV channels. He has been largely associated with launch of new TV Channels like ET Now, News 24, E 24, LSTV etc. He has also been associated with designing of Teleports, DSNG Vans, Tapeless production work flows, automation of post production HD workflow & use of MPEG 4 technology for Transmission of TV Channels.
Besides executing TV projects, he has worked on India’s first Multimedia High Definition TV studio set-up at Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi. His expertise lies in technical analysis of the broadcasting requirements, formulating solutions, system design & drawing, determining technical specifications, evaluation of the technical proposals, coordination with vendors, installation & commissioning of projects, imparting training for operation, maintenance & monitoring as well as expansion of broadcasting facilities.
He also served Government of Jammu & Kashmir from 2009-2012 as Junior Engineer (Electrical) with Power Development Department, wherein he was posted at Power Grid, Amargarh & was incharge of 132KV Transmission Line from Lower Jhelum Power House, Gantmulla to Amargarh, Sopore.
He joined EMMRC as Asst. Engineer in 2012 & is looking after technical & broadcasting operations for production of e-TV Programmes, e-Contents, Documentries etc telecasted on UGC-CEC Swayam Prabha Higher Education Channel on Life Science. He also looks after the technical aspects for QUEST programme of University of Kashmir telecasted on DD Kashir and Radio Digest telecasted on Radio Kashmir. He also looks after technical aspects for various MOOCs Courses launched by the Centre
He has presented technical papers in various national and international conferences & has got first position in paper presentation at the 8th National Convention of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) in 2005. Besides he has attended many workshops / seminars / trainings / broadcasting expo’s etc.
His areas of interest are Digital Video Broadcasting, Conditional Access System, Newsgathering over IP & Compression Technologies power electronics, FACTS, HVDC and power quality.
He has also received M.A degree in Public Administration from Indira Gandhi National Open University.
